We are finally getting good planting weather, so we let Kendall and Piper plant their strawberry plants and Madison planted her flowers. Ashton planted herself indoors(I think she is a vampire). We are expecting another storm friday so I planted our fruits and veggys inside. I am hoping the flowers I planted don't die if another frost hits. Anyways I thought you would all enjoy what Kendall decided to wear as she did her gardening in about 80 degree weather. YES that is a snow hat in the shape of a dinosaur.

Easter 2009
We went to the annual Show Low Easter egg hunt in the park. And as usual it was freezing, that is one of the things I miss about the valley is at least there you can hunt in shorts. Both the girls got prize eggs so even though they did not when the big raffle they still did pretty cool(one year all four girls one the raffle prizes in their age group). Easter sunday we had a nice easter egg hunt at the house and a great easter dinner. We visited Grandma and Grandpa Pender as well, we tried to call Grandma Char and Mike but no answer, so sad.

Renaissance Festival
We met up with Aunt Dusty and Hayzin at the festival this year and had so much fun. The girls always love seeing cousins. I go for the food (obviously). Ashton and Madison go for the little stores and to make fun of the people there and the babies went for the rides, Brandon goes because we make him. The picture of us on the giant wooden horse is showing real terror. That ride looks nice and mild but I will have nightmares about the first couple rocks for the rest of my life. Looking at the picture the girls get all excited but during the actual ride there were screams and frantic scrambling. Maddy and Ashton ditched us most the time but all in all it was a fun day. HAHA Dusty I posted first. (Don't forget to share pics and I will send you the ones I have)

Exciting Week
Saturday I took the older girls to the Teen Center's first Indie rock concert. Believe it or not we actually have a pretty famous band up here "Alaska and Me". Some bands from the valley also attended. Anyways, Ashton caused such a commotion that she got arrested. JK...But the look on her face when he first put those cuffs on was priceless.I asked him to mace her, so she got lucky. I attached a picture of the lead singer of the band "Sketching in Stereo", whom all the girls were drooling over. Madison also had her Choir Extravaganza this week, I included a clip of a song they did from the musical "Wicked". The Junior High Honor Choir got to perform it with our Showbiz Choir from the High School. Madison was upset that she did not get the solo but she did have a bad cough that thank goodness did not rear its ugly head during this song, but she hacked a lung up there during others.***Piper is almost potty trained****finally, she has been my hardest to train, just be thankful that I do not post her first poopy in the potty..Because I have it.

Lake Becker Wildlife Preserve
I am taking an anthropology class this session so we thought it would be fun to go the Native American ruins Casa Malpaise near our home. So after checking two different web sites to check if it was open on Sunday, we drove all the way there and saw that it was closed. DARN budget cuts. So we decided to hit the local mom and pop store and then went and hiked the Wildlife preserve right there in Springerville. Of course we saw no wildlife, but Ashton enjoyed showing us all the animal poop she could locate, we did see lots of beaver dams.

Kenny's First Haircut
Ok, I admit I can be a bit of a sap..and today was no exception. I took the older girls to our local cosmotology school to get their hair cut and Kenny decided she wanted a haircut too. I was surprised but figured she is four and had never had it cut before and it was now growing in a scraggly, sideways type direction. Well anyways..I almost cried when they took off about 5 inches. But here are the pictures...

Christmas 08
yeah..I finally updated. Below are a few pics of our white christmas. Please excuse the unfinished floor in some pics. We are currently remodeling the floor and all the doors. Hopefully once I start teaching we can start our addition and finish fencing the place. The girls are all doing well: Ashton has a part time job working at the Parks and Recreation office, she medaled in ACADEC, mentors for Bigs, is starting college this summer so she can graduate from high school with her AA. Madison is on the dance team and Showchoir which is singing for the Governer this week, she also helps me out at work. Kendall and Piper are little smarties thanks to their older sisters. Some things I wish they did not know how to say though. The babies go to work with me or stay with Grandma Rhonda. I am still trucking away at school, NAU is fun but it can get a little overwhelming. I have also been substitute teaching a few days a week. That is an experience. I am trying to decide which grade I want to teach once the babies are in school. Brandon is doing well just trying to decide which project is next on the house. More snow is on its way tonight...WooHoo
